Aljustrel is where the three children lived, and the two houses show how plainly. In the Marto house visitors see the small rooms, the simple furniture and the kitchen where the family gathered by the fire. Lúcia's house, where she was born and lived until she was 14 and where the children were first questioned about the apparitions, was renovated in 2024 and now has a museum presentation. In its backyard is the Well of Arneiro, the place of the Angel's second apparition in the summer of 1916.

The other apparition sites are in the same countryside. The Way of the Cross that begins at the Shrine's south roundabout follows the path the children used and ends at the Hungarian Calvary; Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared on August 19, 1917, lies between its eighth and ninth stations, and the Loca do Cabeço marks the first and third apparitions of the Angel.

Good to know before you go: these hours and the free admission are as published by the Shrine and read on October 10, 2026. The houses close for lunch, on the afternoon of December 24 and all day on December 25 and January 1, and the Shrine posts occasional short closures for conservation work. Its separate House-Museum of Aljustrel is listed as currently unavailable. A visit here is separate from prayer at the sanctuary, so ask whether your group walks, drives, or does both. If walking that far is a concern, the Shrine lends wheelchairs free of charge at its First Aid Post, in the building of the Our Lady of Sorrows Retreat House, on completion of an identification form.
