These are the shrine's own statements, read on its website on October 10, 2026. To borrow a wheelchair, ask at the Shrine Security office beside St. John's Rest and Day Care Centre, or ask one of the stewards on the grounds. For the shuttle, ask at any shrine office or any member of staff; it runs on request, not to a timetable. The anointing of the sick is celebrated in the Basilica at the 3:00 p.m. Mass from Monday to Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday during the pilgrimage season, and the shrine lists a monthly sensory-friendly Mass among its events.

Good to know before you go: the grounds are large, more than 100 acres, so decide in advance which places matter most. The Apparition Chapel, the parish church and the Basilica are the heart of a visit, and the museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with free admission. St. John's Rest and Care Centre is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Groups and pilgrims with particular needs can use the facilities of St. John's Welcome Centre, but these must be booked ahead on +353 94 938 8100, extension 136.

The shrine's pages do not mention reserved accessible parking, whether there is any charge for a wheelchair, or step-free entry at the Apparition Chapel and the parish church. If one of those decides your visit, telephone the shrine office on the same number before you travel.
