The chapel is the cathedral's former chapter house, a Gothic room built between 1365 and 1369, and the cup has been kept in it since 1916. The relic itself is small: a polished agate cup on a medieval gold mount. What tradition says about it, and what the documents can and cannot show, is a separate question; this is how the visit works.
Visit València gives the last entry as 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with weekend closing extended to 6:30 p.m. from July 1 to September 30. The reduced ticket is for pensioners, people with disabilities, the unemployed, students and children aged 8 to 17. The visit is made with an individual audio guide and includes the Cathedral Museum; the board suggests an hour and a half to two hours. The Miguelete bell tower needs a separate ticket. The cathedral stands on the Plaza de la Reina in the old town.
Good to know before you go: there are no cultural visits on January 1 and 6, March 19, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, October 9, December 8 or December 25, and on Sundays visiting starts only at 2:00 p.m. This is a working cathedral, so plan a Sunday morning around Mass and the visit for the afternoon. These details were read from the tourism board's page on October 10, 2026; prices and hours change, so confirm them with the cathedral shortly before you go.
